School Resource Officers are specially trained sworn law enforcement officers assigned to a school on a long-term basis. The presence of an SRO in schools creates partnerships, builds relationships, and ensures school safety while performing three main roles: law enforcer, mentor/counselor, and educator. SRO’s are able to provide valuable community resources for students, parents, and school faculty.
